The G2272M utilizes a quick-release locking system that even if equipment is not securely locked down, will prevent it from falling off the head. Removing the camera and lens is simple and fast. Simply press the lock release button and slide the plate out.

The G2272M is part of three new low-profile rationelle heads that are now even more efficient and silky smooth due to an advanced built-in fluid system, making them not only ideal for photographic use, but also birdwatching and mini DV cameras.

Normally, when shooting in portrait mode with a low-profile head, up and down tilt is lost. With the G2272M’s square non-keyed QR plate, the camera can be positioned in the adapter sideways so that when it’s positioned in portrait mode up and down tilt is available. In addition, by keeping any side of the mounting plate parallel to the back or front of the camera will ensure perfect alignment without having to worry how the plate fits on the adapter.

Made of high quality low weight magnesium, the G2272M  is designed to carry a maximum capacity of up to 12 lbs. The G2272M also comes with multiple spirit levels to ensure that the head is perfectly level, while the ergonomically designed pan and tilt handles feature easy-to-use triangular shaped rubber grips. For more convenience, the tilt handles can be positioned on either the left or the right hand side of the head.
