for the scenario you are describing (a moray eel head shot at, say, 3 feet) the 20 would be a better choice than the 15. In fact, the 28 might be even better. I use a housed SLR, and for "fish portraits" I generally use a 60mm lens, which would be about equivalent to 45mm in Nikonos terms.
Why don't you want to get close to the moray eel? They are really friendly creatures who generally get a bad rap! Just don't feed them hot dogs, they have very poor eyesight and can't distinguish where the hot dog ends and the finger begins!

: Will the 15mm Nikonos lens take a picture with the main subject being large enough in that picture without being able to focus at its 1 foot minimum. For example you want to take a picture of a moray eel and you don't want to get that close. Will the 15mm be able to reproduce the eel at a large enough size or would the better lens choice be the 20mm. which lens makes a better all around choice.
