: As you figured out, you can use the HAF28 in a Manual exposure mode by running the sync from the strobe head directly to the camera, by-passing the sensor. You can then choose between 1/4 and Full Power Output.

: The #HUPT28 Helix TTL Remote Sensor can be purchased for $125.00 ($175.00 with TTL Sync Cord included). This Sensor gives you the very useful TTL/Slave/Auto modes. Some prefer Manual exposures, but I'd prefer the versatility of the sensor.

: #HUP-HIC Aquaflash Inner Battery Caps are once again available for $19.95.

Dennis,

Thanks, for the info, Now I just need to decide if it is worth spending the money.

I currently have a Sea & Sea Yellow Sub 50 Strobe. It works fine, but the arm on it is very limiting.

I paid $25 for the flash at a Flea Market, and to spend another $175.00 is not out of the question, but is there any way I can test the output of the flash, and is it even needed? Also what would it cost me to replace it with a comparable flash?
