: How would say a Canon A2 compare to a Nikon N90s for housed underwater photography?
I use a Canon Rebel in a SEA & SEA Housing, the same setup as the F90/F100 housing except for Canon. I made the decision to setup with Canon for two reasons: First, I like Canon products and have shot with them for 20 years. Secondly, if I flood a Canon Rebel, I walk away from 250. dollors. In fact, I have three bodies. As to the Lens, it been a decision for years which is better, Nikon or Canon. Either way your into money and they cost the same. I feel the body is just a place to hold film, its the Lens Auto focus and Strobes that make the image along with whos hand the camera is in.
Further, I must say that I have had to WORK with the TTL functions, as the SEA & SEA strobes I have are based on NIKON electronics. But, as a matter of fact, I do not use TTL other than SOME of my Macro work.
Last comment is that I travel with a PRO who shoots with an F100, and in BONAIRE this year we matched to meter read out in the Body of the Rebel and the F100, and they read the same. By no means am I saying that the F100 is equal to a Rebel, or the other way around. But the functions on the Camera we use in a housing underwater are the same.
Hense, why spent 3 times the money to get the same results in an SLR housed ?
