: : The SB105 is basically a SB103 with the following improvements:

: : *slightly more powerful (I believe 75 watt/seconds vs 50 for the SB103)

: : *a slave mode (so you can use it as a second strobe without a double cord)

: : *Oh yeah...the SB105 won't EXPLODE when you use it (the SB103 was recalled due to the chance of explosion when used under current conditions);-)

: : Dave

: Any idea how to turn in the 103 under the recall to get the 105? Thanks, Randy

Randy:

Contact Nikon at 800-645-6687 regarding the SB-103 recall. You send the head only (keep all other hardware), and they will send you a new SB-105 head. It may take 3-4 weeks.

Oh, in addition, the SB-105 has wider coverage (requires the diffuser for 15mm only), a sealed battery compartment for flood protection, and it recycles faster than the SB-103.
