There are advantages to having the 2nd strobe the same as the first strobe. No need in worrying about which one is on which side. One battery charger will work for both. Easier packing. You can control the fill flash by 1) using a diffuser 2) adjusting the output or 3) positioning the strobe differently, a technique I use.
I use two Ike SS200's. They have modeling lights built in. I find them useful for initial setup in the water and at night. You can buy an Ikelite setup for a modeling light check their website.
