Overview
The Digital Soft A is a lenslet type filter. It is randomly covered with what looks like small raindrops. Much like real raindrops, these lenslets act as tiny lenses refocusing the image away from the film or imaging sensor’s plane and because they don’t cover the entire filter surface, it produce images that appear sharp and soft at the same time. There is no effect on color rendition or exposure factor with the Digital Soft A.

The ProMaster 55mm Basis VND filter reduces the amount of light entering your lens between 2 and 8 stops to help you control exposure.
Reducing light to control exposure is the job of a neutral density (ND) filter. A variable neutral density filter (VND) replaces numerous ND filters by allowing you to change the amount of light it holds back with a simple twist of its ring. A ProMaster Basis VND filter can reduce light by as little as 2 f-stops or as much as 8. And it can be adjusted to any amount in between these values.
There are good reasons to hold back light in still photography as well as videography. Some examples include:
- In still photography, a VND filter can allow your camera to use a slower shutter speed. The slower shutter speed creates blur with moving objects as a creative effect. One example is blurring water to give the impression of movement.
- In videography the camera’s shutter speed (frame rate) is often fixed, leaving the lens aperture to control exposure. But what if a large aperture is desired to achieve a shallow depth-of-field in bright conditions? A VND is used to reduce the light and thereby achieve proper exposure even with a large aperture setting.

The ProMaster 58mm Pure Light filter protects your valuable lens against the elements such as sand, dirt, oil, water, and even fingerprints without sacrificing clarity or interfering with the natural light transmitted to your camera.
Thanks to a special combination of hydrophobic coatings and finely polished SchottTM B270 optical glass, Pure Light Protection filters have an extremely high light transmission rating, very low light reflectivity, and are color neutral. This equates to a pure transfer of the image to your camera’s digital sensor or film. Not only do these filters offer excellent protection for your lens against sand, dirt, oil, water, and fingerprints; but they are also easy to clean.
Each Pure Light filter has a matte black coating applied to the very edge of its glass before being carefully set into its anodized aluminum frame. This reduces the possibility of internal reflections as light passes through.
All ProMaster Pure Light filters have the same size filter thread on the front and back. So, they are compatible with your lens cap, and they can be stacked with other, same-size filters. They also come in a terrific, eco-friendly snap case. This case serves two purposes:
- It provides minimalist packaging.
- It acts as a storage case for your filter when not in use.

The ProMaster 58mm Basis VND filter reduces the amount of light entering your lens between 2 and 8 stops to help you control exposure.
Reducing light to control exposure is the job of a neutral density (ND) filter. A variable neutral density filter (VND) replaces numerous ND filters by allowing you to change the amount of light it holds back with a simple twist of its ring. A ProMaster Basis VND filter can reduce light by as little as 2 f-stops or as much as 8. And it can be adjusted to any amount in between these values.
There are good reasons to hold back light in still photography as well as videography. Some examples include:
- In still photography, a VND filter can allow your camera to use a slower shutter speed. The slower shutter speed creates blur with moving objects as a creative effect. One example is blurring water to give the impression of movement.
- In videography the camera’s shutter speed (frame rate) is often fixed, leaving the lens aperture to control exposure. But what if a large aperture is desired to achieve a shallow depth-of-field in bright conditions? A VND is used to reduce the light and thereby achieve proper exposure even with a large aperture setting.
