Laowa SKU: VE10028NZ | Helix SKU: LWVE10028NZ
Followed by the success of the Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro, the 100mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro is the 2nd member of Laowa 2:1 macro line-up. It features an apochromatic (APO) characteristic that chromatic aberration at both ‘in-focus’ & ‘out-of-focus’ is both invisible. This new 100mm lens can cover full frame sensor size and focus from 2:1 magnification to infinity. The lens has a similar physical size to other 100mm Macro lenses in the market but its wider magnification range allows macro photographers to capture subjects at any sizes. This 100mm f/2.8 lens can also focus to infinity and serve as a portrait lens with exceptional optics quality.
Only Canon EF version is equipped with a CPU chip and motor for aperture control via the camera. All other mounts are manual and aperture is controlled by the aperture ring on the lens.
2:1 Magnification at the same physical size
Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2:1 Ultra-Macro is the second 2:1 Macro lens that we have (The first one is the 60mm f/2.8). 100mm is one of the most common focal length for macro photography usage. All of the 100mm macro lenses in the market can only reproduce 1:1 magnification (life-size) image only. The extended 2x magnification means more details can be seen through the lens. Photographers can now take advantage of the wider magnification range to capture bugs at different sizes.
Apochromat APO design (invisible CA)
The Laowa 100mm f/2.8 has a Apochromat (APO) design where the chromatic aberration (CA) at BOTH in-focus & out-of-focus area (Longitudinal CA) is controlled to the minimal. CA has long been one of the most annoying aberrations for macro photography and now you can forget about this and focus more on taking a great shot.
Outstanding Portrait lens with crystal sharpness
Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2:1 Ultra Macro APO is not only a exceptionally macro lens. It can also focus to infinity and is a very decent telephoto portrait lens.

Sigma’s 4.5mm F2.8 EX DC Circular Fisheye HSM creates an image that is a circular, curved, distorted view of reality when used on a digital SLR camera. One of the most unusual lenses a photographer can use as it produces a circular image within a black surrounding frame. It is ideal for landscapes and panoramic photography. Because of its equisolid angle projection system, the lens can be used for scientific applications. The minimum focusing distance of 5.3 inches allows the photographer to have fun with placement of subjects extremely near to the camera with distorted backgrounds. SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass employed for effective compensation of color aberration, Super Multi-Layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting and assures high image quality throughout the entire focal range. In the hands of a photographer looking for creative expression and the opportunity to explore and create, this is the ultimate creative tool. The results are captivating.

All that potential, in the palm of your hand. The light and compact lens packs a 15x zoom punch.
In addition to being a compact and lightweight lens with 15x magnification, the Tamron 18-270mm high-power zoom lens boasts the PZD (Piezo Drive) internal autofocus drive, a standing wave ultrasonic motor system. Agile performance is virtually guaranteed with an unshakeable VC (Vibration Compensation). All that, and with a Φ62mm filter diameter and weighing in at 450g, this lens is the cumulation of uncompromising research and development to make a lightweight, compact, all-in-one super zoom lens. The trailblazing PZD delivers smooth, quick autofocus. Combined with VC, this is a winning partnership delivering clear, stable shots even in low light or at the telephoto end. Easing your ability to capture clean, clear images of high resolution. The result: express yourself without limits. Whether you are toting it to a casual picnic or an off-road mountain biking expedition, we have engineered a high-powered zoom lens that's not only versatile but also light and compact.
From wide to telephoto, this 15x high-power zoom lens covers a vast focal range and comes in a light, compact package. At the telephoto end, the 18-270mm is ideal for sports shots or when using distance to capture wildlife in habitat or natural expressions on subjects who normally would be overly conscious of the camera. Whether on vacation or in your own back yard, the wide end gives you the tools to shoot expansive landscapes. Every angle for photographic expression is all in one lens that delivers sharp, clear photos.
The lens construction comprises 13 groups and 16 elements. Use of the hybrid aspherical lens with low dispersion glass has helped achieve a compact design and improved optical performance. Also, Tamron's unique PZD autofocus drive and the VC mechanism is contributing to downsizing.
The PZD piezoelectric drive is an internal standing wave ultrasonic motor system. Innovations to reduce parts and simplify operation also contributed to the lens's reduced size and weight. Lighter and smaller than other autofocus drives, the piezoelectric drive uses a standing wave, instead of the traditional traveling wave, to turn and extend the piezoelectric element. Thus the entire element moves in a standing wave pattern, moving the metal tip (the contact surface) in an elliptic motion. The friction of this movement moves the rotor for a smooth, precise autofocus.
VC (Vibration Compensation) is Tamron's proprietary image stabilization system. It employs three driving coils that electromagnetically activate a shake-compensating VC lens group. Since the VC lens elements are held in place only by three ceramic ball bearings, there is smooth movement with little friction. Even when shooting long-range or under low light, the viewfinder image remains stable and tracking response is excellent.
The minimum object distance is 0.49m (19.3 in) through the entire zoom range and with a macro capability of 1:3.8 allows you to enjoy serious, high-quality macro photography with unaccustomed convenience. With an optical system designed exclusively for optimum performance on DSLR cameras with APS-C size image sensors, the angular coverage range of this lens is impressive. And even though it has built-in VC, it still delivers a close minimum focus across the entire zoom range. From macro to telephoto this is a lens worthy of your creativity. Light, compact, smooth, and accurate at every angle.
* APS-C size image sensors are smaller than the 35mm film format. This lens can produce full-screen images of almost the same scale (approx. 3.15 in x approx. 2.17 in) as those taken with a 35mm format camera with a lens of maximum zoom ratio of 1:2.5.
The BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coatings reduce the lens reflection and dispersion that cause ghosting and flare. The coatings enhance light transmission in both the short and long wavelength ranges, ensuring excellent performance in all photographic conditions. Additionally, internal surface coatings are applied to cemented surfaces of all lens elements to deliver sharp, high-contrast images and flawless color reproduction.

Ultra-optimized optics create yet another incredible image
The SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A041) is a high-speed ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with ultimate image quality that lets you capture all you see.
By utilizing specialty glass materials and aspherical lens elements in the new Model A041, Tamron’s engineers have further minimized the distortion and lateral chromatic aberration that can be an issue with wide-angle shooting. The lens also has triple lens coatings consisting of the newly developed AX (Anti-reflection eXpand) Coating, plus eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) and BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coatings, which all combine to provide sharp and clear images even in peripheral areas. The Model A041 lens features high precision AF technology and a powerful VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism. A rear filter holder (for Canon EF-mount only) comes as a standard feature, making the use of filters much easier. As well as Moisture-Resistant Construction, wide-ranging features such as Fluorine Coating newly developed enhancing durability, make it possible to shoot under any type of shooting circumstances.
The SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD (Model A012) is a high-quality F/2.8 ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for use with full-frame DSLR cameras that has been lauded by photography enthusiasts throughout the world. To further enhance this legacy of high-quality optics, new functions have been added to create the next generation model, the SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A041) . Incorporating an XGM (eXpanded Glass Molded Aspherical) lens element as well as multiple LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements provides high definition images throughout the entire zoom range.
A new revolutionary AX (Anti-reflection eXpand) Coating is accomplished through Tamron's proprietary deposition technology that addresses the difficulty of applying uniformed coating using existing technology. Now the coating can be applied uniformly edge to edge, even if the convex surface has a strong curvature. As a result, the reflectance and color rendition at the peripheral part of the element is the same as the center. The new AX Coating, which is especially effective for wide-angle lenses that tend to let in harmful light from peripheral areas, effectively minimizes ghosting and provides outstanding uniform image clarity.
In order to engage the full optical performance of the lens, it is essential to control the slightest blur and precise focusing. In this respect, the lens applies a Dual MPU (Micro-Processing Unit), which includes two dedicated MPUs, one for lens system control including AF, and the other for vibration compensation processing. AF speed and precision have been enhanced and image stabilization has been vastly improved, reaching 4.5 stops* according to CIPA standards. Even for handheld shooting, the blur that often arises in low-light conditions is effectively controlled.
* CIPA Standard Compliant. For Canon: EOS-5D MKIII is used. For Nikon: D810 is used.
High precision AF lets you take steady shots
The AF drive uses proprietary Tamron technology, USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) providing high torque, response, and silent operation. Manual focus adjustments can be made on the fly with the lens’s Full-time Manual Focus Override system.
The VC mechanism provides powerful support for handheld shooting
The Model A041 has an improved VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism with vastly better image stabilization performance from the previous Model A012, reaching 4.5 stops according to CIPA standards. This enables sharper images over a wide range of photographic situations, including indoor and outdoor shots as well as landscape photography at stopped-down aperture settings.
The durability of the front element coating is greatly improved with the development of new Fluorine Coating. With the new fluorine compound that has excellent water- and oil-repellent properties, the lens surface is much easier to wipe clean and less vulnerable to damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture, and fingerprints, and enabling your important lenses to be continually protected on a long-time basis.
The SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A041) integrates engineering with human touch design, aiming at intuitive operability, while still emphasizing minute details and texture. The lens is more user-friendly because of innovations including a new switch box design, an improved distant-scale window, and the precision and stability of the metallic mount.
Now three of high-speed zoom lens with VC, SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A041), SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A032) and SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A025), are reborn as Generation 2, providing you with the feeling of luxury and operation unique to the human touch design.

Anti-reflection technologies, eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) Coating and BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating improve light transmission and suppress internal reflections, including light reflected off the camera’s image sensors. So even when taking a backlit or semi-backlit photograph, ghosting and flare caused by reflected light are fully eliminated.
Additional enhancements expand the lens’ versatility. For example, MOD (Minimum Object Distance) has been reduced to 2.2m (86.6 in) so you can enjoy tele-macro photography and dramatic bokeh.
The Model A022 is equipped with the USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) ring-type motor that delivers excellent responsiveness and control. AF speed is significantly improved from current model, and it enables accurate high-speed focus even when capturing moving subjects.
When shooting with AF, the Full-time Manual Focus override allows you to instantly make fine focusing adjustments manually, without having to switch between modes.
The VC (Vibration Compensation) effectiveness is equivalent to 4.5 stops, based on image stabilization performance levels established by CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) when using in VC MODE 3. Model A022 now has three types of VC modes, and it is possible to choose the optimum VC mode according to the situation for taking a photograph, such as when wishing to pan the camera.
The improved VC minimizes blurring caused by slight camera movement, which is prevalent with long telephoto lenses and even more troublesome with higher-resolution cameras. VC enhances the freedom of hand-held shooting at slower shutter speeds required by low-light conditions such as dusk.
VC MODE 1 is the standard mode that strikes a great balance between the stability of the viewfinder image and the stabilization effects.
VC MODE 2 is exclusively used for panning.
VC MODE 3 prioritizes the stabilization of the captured images and forgoes the stabilization of the viewfinder image.
With the optional accessory TAMRON TAP-in Console™, you can custom the configuration of VC MODE 1. Choose the viewfinder view of either Standard or viewfinder image priority.
FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism quickly locks or unlocks the zoom at any position simply by sliding the zoom ring. Photographers can shoot from any angle without the zoom extending unintentionally. Additionally, the customary Zoom Lock switch prevents unwanted barrel extension during transportation.
This design philosophy in pursuit of functional beauty with a “Human Touch” is applied even to minute details for the SP 150-600mm G2 ultra-telephoto lens as well.
The design includes the front portion of the lens composed of curved surfaces that comfortably fit in the palm of a photographer’s hand, the focus ring and zoom ring with the groove width optimized to improve user-friendliness, the focus limiter switch allowing for easy operation, the easy-to-hold grip compatible with the Arca-Swiss type quick release system, and other features. The lens hood with smooth curves that fit the lens barrel has a design that allows for its easy attachment and removal. While using metal as the exterior material and adding numerous new functions such as the FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism, the SP 150-600mm G2 achieves a size and weight making comfortable handheld shooting possible, with a slim and stylish appearance design to top it all off.
Two exclusive tele converters, which match the optics of the new SP 150-600mm G2, offer 1.4x and 2.0x magnification, and provide a maximum zoom range up to 1200mm. These new tele converters extend focal length of the master lens, making it possible to take pictures in farther ultra-telephoto ranges.

Tamron's SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC LD Aspherical [IF] (Model B005) is a high speed f/2.8 wide-to-moderate-telephoto zoom lens designed exclusively for Canon and Nikon-mount digital SLR cameras with smaller sensors and now features Tamron’s proprietary tri-axial Vibration Compensation (VC) mechanism that minimizes the effects of handheld camera shake. The new SP 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC covers the very popular 17-50mm focal length range (equivalent to 26-78mm in the full-frame 35mm format) making it extremely versatile. Its wide aperture and outstanding performance provide practical advantages in low-light shooting and aesthetic image control, thereby enriching the user’s range of creative expression. The new lens delivers impressive sharpness and striking contrast over its entire focal-length and aperture range, and at its maximum aperture of f/2.8 it produces beautiful images enhanced by shallow depth of- field, and smooth, natural transitions in out-of-focus areas of the image (i.e. excellent bokeh.) The new lens is equipped with Tamron’s proprietary Vibration Compensation (VC) image stabilization mechanism, which controls the effects of camera shake in three planes. VC provides more opportunities for sharp hand-held photography (up to 4-stops) at the slow shutter speeds needed when shooting in low-light conditions (e.g. night or indoor scenes) dramatically enhancing the user’s level of photographic freedom.
